The Executive Doctorate in Business program offered by the J. Mack Robinson College of Business of Georgia State University helps executives develop these capabilities by teaching them how to apply relevant knowledge and research skills to contemporary business problems. It also addresses the lifelong learning needs of intellectually active professional adults who already possess advanced degrees in their fields but wish to continue their education to the highest level.

Program Description Robinson's Executive Doctorate in Business comprises course-based activities and research projects with the initial emphasis on course activities and an increased focus on research projects as students progress through the program.
Six content courses provide students with knowledge about global business leadership:
- Leadership to Create Human Value
- Theory & Practice of Collective Action
- Emerging Markets and Global Models for Business
- Global Economic Systems and Issues
- Influences and Limitations on Executive Decision Making
- Social Responsibility in Business Leadership
Five courses on research practices, design and analysis equip students with the understanding required to undertake formal research:
- Research Publications and Practices
- Designing Qualitative Research Studies
- Analyzing Qualitative Research Data
- Designing Quantitative Research Studies
- Analyzing Quantitative Research Data
During the second and third semesters, students participate in research projects in groups of two to three people, under the supervision of a senior researcher. Each project will address a contemporary business issue and be conducted with the objective of publishing the results.
During the fourth, fifth and sixth semesters, each student engages in an independent research project under the supervision of a senior researcher. This project addresses a business issue affecting the student's firm. Each student will produce and defend a doctoral thesis with the expectation of publishing it.
Finally, the program offers seminars and workshops with senior researchers to stimulate the participants' learning and ongoing research activities.

Location The program is offered in an executive format with students coming to Georgia State University's Buckhead Executive Education Center for four three-day residencies (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) during each of six semesters over a three-year period. Executive Doctorate in Business students will take a total of 18 three-credit-hour course- and project-based activities (including 15 credit-hours of thesis work).
