The Herman J. Russell, Sr. International Center for Entrepreneurship is dedicated to improving the chances of success for 21st century entrepreneurs. The Center has three areas of activity with approximately equal priority: degree programs, worldwide knowledge creation, and engagement in the community. Our degree programs for students include graduate courses leading to a concentration in entrepreneurship or a career path in international entrepreneurship for MBA students. In addition there are a number of undergraduate courses. All courses balance theory with practical experience, with the result that students are well prepared for the excitement and the risks of creating and managing a new business.

Scholarships are available to many of our entrepreneurship students.

The faculty of the Russell Entrepreneurship Center are involved in worldwide knowledge creation through research on entrepreneurs and their companies. Such work has won prestigious international awards for many of our faculty members and doctoral students. We publish in all the most important academic journals and serve on their editorial boards. Our research ensures that the students in our degree programs have an education that is on the cutting edge.

We engage the community of entrepreneurs through the Society of Entrepreneurs. It serves as portal of entry into Georgia State University for Atlanta's successful innovators and growth-oriented companies. Members of the Society meet monthly for educational programs, speak to students in our classes, serve as judges of our student business plan competitions, and provide sites for our student entrepreneur internships.

Excellence is enhanced by the synergies the Russell Entrepreneurship Center derives from integrating its programs with the Robinson College's Institute of International Business. In addition, the Russell Center benefits from work with the Zwerner Chair of Entrepreneurship and Family Business and the Ramsey Chair of Private Enterprise (established in 1967 and the first academic chair in the United States focused on studying entrepreneurship).
