State of Business Article Features Unique Honorary Board The fall 2008 issue of State of Business features the real estate department's Honorary Board, a creative network for professionals and academics. "Our curriculum provides a balance of theory and practice, and the Honorary Board is very much part of that balance," says department Chair Julian Diaz III.

Real Estate Department to Offer Introductory ARGUS Seminar This is an excellent opportunity for real estate professionals and students to learn about ARGUS. ARGUS is a real estate software package, which is increasingly being used by real estate companies in their businesses. ARGUS provides all necessary tools for companies in real estate, including lease management, cash flow projections and investment analysis. This is an introductory seminar that should be helpful in providing a working knowledge of ARGUS that is required by many real estate companies when recruiting potential employees. ARGUS is becoming an industry standard domestically as well as internationally.

GSU Undergrad Receives $10,000 CREW Scholarship Congratulations to Mahsa Allendet. CREW Network has selected her as one of 10 national recipients of a $10,000 scholarship. The scholarship was awarded based on academic excellence. Ms. Allendet will receive a paid internship program at a commercial brokerage firm. The goal of the program is to cultivate the next generation of female leadership in commercial real estate.
Finnish Researcher Visits GSU Tanja Tyvimaa of Tampere University of Technology recently visited GSU as part of a research project on senior housing consumer preferences and senior housing business models. A researcher in the Institute of Construction Management and Economics, Ms. Tyvimaa will return to GSU to continue her research in 2009.
