Karen Handel, Secretary of State of Georgia; Karen Loch; Craig Lesser, former Commissioner of GeorgiaSeptember 24, 2007 - (ATLANTA, GA) -  The Global Partners MBA Program at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business has received the 2007 Governor's International Award in the category of International Education. The presentation was made at the World Trade Center Atlanta during the Governor's International Awards Gala on Saturday, September 15.

The award honors the importance of education to the growth of international business in the state. Robinson's Global Partners MBA was selected from a field of 15 nominees.

"We are extremely honored to receive the 2007 Governor's Award for International Education," said Robinson Dean Fenwick Huss. "This recognition speaks well of the Global Partners program, our emphasis on global business education, and the quality of our faculty and students."

Global Partners is a rigorous 14-month, full-time MBA program designed to provide students a "true global experience." Students divide their studies between the Robinson College in Atlanta and partner institutions in France at the Paris Institut d'Administration des Enterprises (IAE de Paris) at the Sorbonne University, and in Brazil at the COPPEAD Graduate School of Business of the Federal Unviersity of Rio de Janeiro. Students spend 6 weeks in residency in each city with an additional 2-week business tour of China and visits to Washington, D.C., and Brussels. Program highlights include interaction with corporate and government leaders in each location and a 16-week international internship. Upon completion of the program, students receive an MBA from the Robinson College, a Masters in International Management from the Sorbonne, and a certificate from COPPEAD.

"The Global Partners Program was the result of our desire to create the ideal global business program," said Karen Loch, professor and director of the Global Partners Program. "We wanted it to be as rigorous in the classroom as any other MBA but also provide students the opportunity to immerse themselves into different cultures so that they would be able to fully grasp what it means to conduct business internationally. This award is a testament to everyone involved, especially the students who honor the program daily through their successes."
