
Master of Science (MS)
The MS program in the Department of Marketing is a specialized Master's program designed to provide the in-depth theoretical and applied training needed to excel in a leadership position in Marketing. The MS in Marketing Program extends the students' previously acquired basic business and marketing skills by developing advanced technical and analytical competency in a selected area. The MS Program, therefore, allows students to distinguish themselves as marketing specialists capable of making decisions in an increasingly complex marketing environment.
The MS program offers flexibility, allowing students to tailor course selection to special interests within Marketing, such as:
marketing research
promotion
business-to-business marketing
new product development
international marketing
e-commerce
To earn a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in Marketing, students must complete the following program:
foundation courses (0-6 hours, depending on prior preparation)
MBA 8140 -- Marketing Management
MBA 8240 -- Strategic Marketing Techniques
Mk 8100 -- Buyer Behavior
Mk 8200 -- Marketing Research
21 hours of elective courses in Marketing or a related field (limited to
9 hours)
either Mk 8900 -- Strategic Market Planning, or MBA 8880 -- Field
