Rebecca Arkader, Ph.D., Professor, Vice-Dean, International Affairs, COPPEAD
Biography Rebecca Arkader is a Professor at the COPPEAD Graduate School of Business of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she teaches at the MBA and Doctoral Programs as well as in Executive Education. At present she is the school's Vice-Dean, International Affairs.
Professor Arkader holds a PhD in Business Administration and a BS in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Earlier in her career she held management positions in government agencies in the science and technology area. She was a Director at the Brazilian Institute of Industrial Property and as such participated in several international negotiations in the industrial property and transfer of technology area. She was also active as a company and government consultant.
Professor Arkader teaches Operations Management, Operations Strategy, Supply Management, and Research Methodology. She has published in several journals and in books both international and Brazilian, and her main research interests are in Supply Chain Management, Operations Strategy, and Strategic Supply Management. She was a visiting researcher at the Operations Management Group of the Warwick Business School, in the UK. She is the Coordinator in Brazil for the IMSS - International Manufactucturing Strategy Survey Research Network.
She is a Member of the Production and Operations Management Society, of the European Operations Management Association, and of the Association of International Business. She is the Brazilian Node of the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA).
