Career Management Center - Executive Coaching Program

Robinson Executive Coaching Program

Objective
The objective of the Executive Coaching Program is to provide Robinson College of Business Graduate Students the opportunity to seek advice and guidance about careers and their personal and professional skills by creating relationships between students and experienced professionals. Specifically, we are looking to coaches to help guide Robinson students as they map out areas for their personal and professional development, request information about careers and industries, and seek feedback about issues of concern.

Student Selection Process
Robinson students interested in participating in the Executive Coaching Program are required to submit an application and resume to the Career Management Center.   Our staff reviews all application materials and selects only those students who we can match with a coach who has experience in their professional area of interest. Student resumes are provided in advance for the Coach's review.

Responsibilities of the Coach
This program is designed for the student to have a one-time opportunity to meet with you to discuss his/her career goals.  Follow up communication will be between you and the student and is not a required component of this program.

Your responsibilities will be to meet with the student for one hour and to:

  1. Listen to the student  and provide constructive feedback
  2. Communicate your career path and offer any advice that you have
  3. Answer any questions the student may have about areas for their professional and career goals
  4. Possibly, provide the student with information about opportunities he/she should explore

Logistics & Lunch
During the Executive Coaching week, coaches are asked to visit our Downtown Campus for either a morning (9:00am-12pm) or an afternoon (1:00-4:00pm) and meet with three students.  In addition, we invite coaches to join us for lunch as part of your visit to Robinson. We would be happy to coordinate inviting other key Robinson Faculty or Staff whom you have an interest in connecting with to join us.  Complimentary parking is available at the Commerce Club on a space-available basis.

RSVP Process for Coaches
To confirm your interest in participating, please email Sharon Cohen, scohen@gsu.edu with the following information:

  1. Two days and times when you are available. A phone number and email address where you can be contacted if necessary.
  2. Please attach a brief bio to the email so that we will be able to match you with students who have similar professional interests. Or, feel free to direct us to a webpage that has your bio information.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support Robinson by sharing your experience to help students further their professional and career goals!
