Alumni Award for Service to Robinson College
Richard Bowers is president of Richard Bowers & Co., a commercial real estate firm that specializes in the leasing and sales of office, industrial, retail, land, and investment properties that have completed more than 9,400 requirements in excess of 76 million square feet of space. Since its inception in 1980, the company has continued to grow by adding affiliate companies that encompass property and facility management, design and relocation services, development and construction management, and financial services.

on its board of directors as well as on the boards of the Georgia chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. Bowers' passion for the profession extends to Robinson, where he received his MBA in Real Estate in 1974: In 2001, he endowed the Richard Bowers & Company Professorship in Real Estate. The year following, he received Georgia State University's Distinguished Alumni Award. Bowers, who previously served on the board of the Georgia State University Foundation, now sits on Robinson's Board of Advisors.
In recognition of his service to the American Cancer Society, the organization awarded Bowers its Lifetime Excalibur Award in 2000. He serves on the board of the Georgia Tennis Foundation and is a nationally ranked player. In addition to his MBA from Robinson, Bowers holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Military Academy.
