Stacy Hawkins has been awarded an AICPA Minority Doctoral Fellowship for the 2008/2009 academic year. This is a very competitive fellowship. Stacy's selection is a wonderful recognition of both her success so far in the program and potential for continued success in her career.

Marcia Daley, a Decision Sciences Ph.D. student, was awarded a $10,000 grant from the ISM Educational Resources Committee to support her dissertation research. This award is given to outstanding candidates who are conducting research in supply chain management. The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) was founded in 1915 and is the largest supply management association in the world, with a membership of more than 40,000. Her dissertation chair is Dr. Subhashish Samaddar.

Sandhya Vallapuzha has been selected by the Financial Management Association to receive an FMA travel grant to attend the annual FMA Meetings, to be held in Grapevine, Texas, on October 8 - 11. |

Constanza Meneghetti accepted a tenure-track position at West Virginia University. |

Rocky Ling accepted a tenure-track position at Georgia College and State University. |

Jaideep Shenoy's first dissertation essay, titled "An Examination of the Efficiency, Foreclosure, and Collusion Rationales for Vertical Takeovers," has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious 2009 AFA Meetings in San Francisco.
He also won a GTA Teaching Excellence Award.

Lingling Wang has been accepted to participate in the 2008 FMA Doctoral Student Consortium, to be held in Dallas, Texas, in October. Only 80 doctoral students throughout the nation were selected for participation in the consortium.
Wang is the 2008 recipient of the Stephen D. Smith Doctoral Student Research Fellowship. The Stephen D. Smith Doctoral Student Research Fellowship is funded by the Stephen D. Smith Doctoral Student Research Fund, which was established in 2007 to honor late colleague and friend, Steve Smith.
She also has a paper, "International Sourcing and Capital Structure: Evidence from U.S. Manufacturing Firms," on the program at the prestigious Western Finance Association meetings. | Marketing

Andrew Baker presented a paper titled "Drivers of Consumer Ratings in Online Recommender Systems: An Exploratory Analysis of Cross-Cultural Differences" (coauthored with Oakland University's Ravi Parameswaran and Balaji Rajagopalan) at the 2008 Summer American Marketing Association Educators' Conference.

Jennifer Smith has been selected to represent GSU at the 2008 Society for Marketing Advances Doctoral Consortium to be held in St. Petersburg, Florida. Jennifer is currently working toward her dissertation proposal to be chaired by Dr. Daniel Bello.
